ICT hubs Singapore and Thailand focus of EU Gateway | Business Avenues mission

Singapore has undoubtedly positioned itself as an ICT hub; the country aims to be the leading digital economy, and has put in place the Digital Economy Framework for Action, which focuses on digitalising various industries, helping businesses sharpen their digital edge, and transforming the Infocomm Media Industry.

European companies that develop digital content, build apps for mobile services and location-based services, design and implement security infrastructure, offer cloud computing and business analytics can leverage on Singapore’s Smart Nation policy infrastructure. Companies offering cybersecurity technologies and services can benefit from increased focus on those issues.

Artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, internet of things, ICT and sustainability, communications of the future will highlight Singapore’s ICT development over the next three to five years.

Thailand’s government is committed to undergoing a digital transformation in the public sector. Efforts are made to identify digital solutions to increase access to public services, as well as digital literacy. Hard infrastructure, digital economy acceleration, digital society, and service infrastructure are on the frontline.

IT hardware spending in Thailand is growing to reach €2.1 billion by 2022, while telecom-driven spending has reached €10.4 billion in 2019.

European companies active in the sectors above can take advantage of both government’s initiatives to transform their digital landscapes.

EU Gateway | Business Avenues confirmed a new mission in the ICT sector to go to both countries in June 2020. This EU-funded mission is open for application until 21 February 2020.
