Contemporary European Design, a staple in Asian markets

Contemporary European Design business mission in Asia

The four Contemporary European Design missions organised by this edition of EU Gateway | Business Avenues were key to establish long lasting business collaborations in Asia.

The 178 participating companies, coming from all across the European Union, strengthened their presence in the target markets, signed new deals and increased their staff in Europe to keep up with the mounting demand for products made in EU.

The first EU-funded business mission took place in 2017 and targeted Singapore and Indonesia to intercept the increasing interest in high-end contemporary furniture designs and interior design from South East Asia.

Then, the Republic of Korea became a primary focus because of its growing home furnishing market, and three consecutive business missions to Seoul took place from 2018 to 2020. The last mission was held in the form of a hybrid event: products were physically exhibited in Seoul, while B2B meetings were organised virtually.
